Watched The Chronicles of Narnia today. The story ended on a happy note. Yes, I do realise it is a movie for the children and they are meant to end with “And they lived happily ever after…” It did strike me, though, how everything ends on a happy note in fairy tales. The land of dreams.
Go through a cupboard, land in a magical land, fight a war, become a king/queen and well, live happily ever after.
Even the characters who die will be brought back to life thanks to a magical potion.
Faced with a formidable adversary? Have no fear, coz enchanted weapons are here!
And oh! The surroundings are just so lovely. Guess that’s why they call it fairyland!
You live in the make-believe world for a few hours. When you snap back to reality, you are left with a craving to seek a land Far, Far Away…
