#1 Slumdog wins 9 Oscars!
Yeah, so? I didn’t think there was anything remarkable about the movie. The fact that it flopped in India, means something. So the Western World is fascinated with the kids, esp the one that jumped into the shit! And who was that idiot doubling for Abby Baby? I think it was a fairly average movie. Dev Patel screams “Latika!!” and then Latika screams some more. That ain’t acting! Danny just made my blood Boyle for featuring yet another Bhooka-Nanga India! So please stop applauding!
#2 Dress to please the guy!
What shit? I am not the one to sport a ganjee or a noodle strap. I have my reasons. If a guy can’t take a girl clad in jeans, before or after marriage, I am not getting married to him! What’s that you say? He doesn’t mind, his parents will? I just shake my head at the family that wouldn’t allow its daughters to dress in denims in today’s day and age. Give me a break!
#3 Corporate Life is Fun. Look at all the money!
Money is not something you can stare at all your life and be happy. I don’t deny that it can buy a lot of things. But Corporate Life is just as sucky or good as any other walk of life. So, please don’t envy the ones in it!
#4 HR does only recruitment and it is free at most times.
These days I happen to meet people who crack such “jokes” and I really don’t take them too well. May be I am stressed out! May be I am overreacting. May be the people who make such jokes empty vessels. Yes, I don’t deny that there are a good number of HR folk who while away their time and hence these jokes can be justified. But that’s just true of any disengaged person no matter what department he/she works for. If you are not interested, you wont work. Even if you are the CEO. And HR is not ADMIN for God’s sake! I mean, really… which underground city were you hibernating in? If you don’t understand how we function, too bad! You don’t have to be scared of us or even act servile in order to get on our right side.
#5 You need to have company
No. I am not a sociopath. I like hanging out with friends and I am always game for social events. I don’t think I’ve ever been told that I am averse to people. But that doesn’t have to be the norm. There are times when I crave for blissful solitude. Times when you need your space. Times when you just want to walk through the hallways of the Taj and feel the years of enchanting beauty just pervade around you. Watch the sun go down, look at the full moon glow, feel the sea breeze, soak into a bubble bath, listen to that haunting melody, read that funny book, see that silly movie. All by yourself. I know of people who cannot bear to be alone. I know I don’t like to sleep in a room alone at night. But live a few moments like you own the planet. Its magical!
